Time: 18:36 – Woomber Bridge, A65 Gargrave

Both Skipton appliances attended reports of a two vehicle road traffic collision involving cars. All persons were out on arrival and uninjured. Crews assisted Police with traffic management and all persons involved received precautionary checks by paramedics on scene.

Time: 19:03 – High Street, Sutton in Craven

Skipton responded to reports of children stuck in a lift. The children were released from the lift using small tools and lift keys.

Crews from York responded to reports of a fire in a garden. This resulted in controlled burning under supervision.

Crews from Acomb responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a commercial premises. This resulted in a false alarm due to a faulty detector.

Crews from Huntington assisted a male who had become locked out of his property. Crews used a 9 meter ladder to regain entry through a balcony door on the first floor.

Crews from Acomb responded to reports of a fire believed out of control. This resulted in controlled burning under supervision, advice was given to the occupier.

Crews from Acomb and Huntington responded to reports of youths lighting fires in a standing crop field. After a thorough investigation no fire was located.

Crews from York responded to reports of a fire out of control. This resulted in controlled burning under supervision. Advice was given to the land owner.

Crews from Harrogate responded to reports of a fire out of control in a domestic garden. This was found to be controlled burning under supervision and crew gave advice to owners.

Scarborough crew attended one of the large planter in the town after it appears someone accidentally dropped a light into it causing it to smolder. Crew used 2 buckets of water to extinguish the fire.

Fire crews from Knaresborough, Harrogate and Thirsk were mobilised to reports of a vehicle on fire on the hard shoulder. Upon arrival crew found this to be a white Mercedes coupe with a blown turbo which caused hot oil on a manifold.

Crews from Harrogate and Ripon were mobilised to reports of a large fire in the open. After a thorough inspection of the area the crew were unable to locate any fire in the vicinity.

Time: 01:34 – Off Crichton Avenue, York

York crew were called after Fire Control received a report of a garden fence on fire. The crew tackled approx 6m of fencing on fire thought to have spread from a neighbouring brazier. Crew used 1 hose reel to extinguish the fire.

Crews from Harrogate assisted paramedics to move a patient using crewpower.

Crews from Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay responded to reports of smoke inside a residential property. All occupants evacuated and a fire was located in the commercial premises below. Crews used one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire which had originated in the store room of the shop after forced entry was gained. Crews left the premises in the hands of police and trades to re-secure the shop. The cause was accidental.
