Farm machinery is being used to help put out the flames

People living near the scene of a fire in a Lincolnshire village have been warned to keep their doors and windows shut. Crews from four fire stations are fighting the blaze in a field in Sutton St Edmund.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service first reported the incident on Twitter at just after 9pm. Crews from Long Sutton, Crowland, Holbeach and Spalding had been sent to the incident on Chapel Road, the brigade said.

"Crews are using hose reels, beaters and farm machinery to extinguish," said the fire service. "Please keep doors and windows shut."
