Crews were called out to a fire at the Morrisons car park in Bulwell. The incident was reported to Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service at 10.25am on Wednesday, July 20.

It's understood that heat from a van exhaust spread to shrubbery and trees, causing a 'small open fire'. Crews from London Road Fire Station attended the fire, using two hose reel jets to put out the fire.

Pictures from the scene show a fire engine parked in front of the hedge, with workers on hand to extinguish the fire. Smoke can be seen rising from the bush while it is ablaze.

It comes after a spate of fires across the county during the heatwave. A huge fire broke out on Tuesday, July 18, in woodland in Blidworth and was declared a 'major incident'. Crews were also called to a major flat fire in Hockley.
