Recent inspection results in Blue Springs are as follows: McDonald’s: 520 S.W. U.S. 40, inspected March 4. Observed chemical stored near food. Corrected; chemical has been moved to a designated area. Johnny’s Tavern: 1175 S.W. Missouri 7, inspected March 4. Observed dented cans on shelf. Corrected; cans were discarded. Observed raw chicken above ready-to-eat foods in the drawer cooler. Corrected; ready-to-eat foods were moved. McDonald’s: 920 S.W. U.S. 40, inspected March 4. The soda, orange juice, and ice nozzle had a dark-colored residue. Corrected; all nozzles were cleaned and sanitized. La Fuente Mexican Street Food: 1512 N.W. Woods Chapel Road, inspected March 7. Proper date marking and disposition: Observed date marks missing from prepared food in the walk-in cooler. Corrected; all items were marked correctly. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church: 4313 S.W. Missouri 7, inspected March 7. Protection from contamination: Observed shelled eggs stored above ready-to-eat foods. Corrected; eggs were moved to the bottom shelf. Plowboys BBQ: 3111 S.W. Missouri 7, inspected March 8. Proper date marking and disposition. Observed expired brisket scrap and potato salad in the reach-in and walk-in coolers. Corrected; product was discarded. Courtyard by Marriott: 1500 block of N.E. Coronado Dr., inspected March 9. Toxic substances: Unlabeled spray bottle in the kitchen area. Corrected; employee placed a common name on the bottle. Noticed a dented can of artichoke in the dry storage area. Corrected; employee removed the can. Can opener had black residue on the blade. Corrected; employee washed, rinsed and sanitized the can opener. Waterford Ladies Home: 500 N.W. Vesper St., inspected March 9. Cooked chicken in a Ziplock bag in the upstairs reach-in cooler without a date. Corrected; employee placed a date on the bag. Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar: 1100 N.W. Missouri 7, inspected March 11. Observed a bottle with liquid without a label. Corrected; bottle was labeled. Observed a hose in mop sink without an air gap. Corrected; hose was removed Hardee’s: 910 Missouri 7, inspected March 11. Observed hose in mop sink without an air gap. Corrected; hose was removed; inspector suggested to cut hose to allow air gap. Zarda Bar-B-Q: 214 Missouri 7, inspected March 16. Observed generic bottles containing liquid without labels. Corrected: bottles were labeled. Dairy Queen: 1900 S.W. Missouri 7, inspected March 17. Observed chemical bottle stored on countertop next to single service and food. Corrected; chemical bottle was removed. China Kitchen: 1108 N.W. Woods Chapel Road, inspected March 21. Observed several containers of potentially hazardous food and ready-to-eat foods without date marks in the walk-in and reach-in coolers. Repeat. Reinspection required. Observed the prep table cooler not maintaining temperature. Product was observed holding temperatures of shrimp at 51 degrees F, steak at 53 degrees F, and crab meat at 58 degrees F. All product was discarded. Reinspection required. Hy-Vee Gas: 629 S.W. U.S. 40, inspected March 23. Observed microwave in the kitchen with accumulation of buildup. Corrected; cleaned on site. Southside Nutrition: 3100 S. Missouri 7, inspected March 23. Establishment had insufficient sanitizer. Establishment ran out of sanitizer and was waiting on delivery. Corrected; inspector had establishment remake sanitize sink with bleach and provided test strips.
