Arpo presents a new EPDM rubber greenhouse heating hose: the GHH Greenhouse Hose. The company, founded in 1973, has supplied different machines and materials to the horticulture industry, including a wide range of hoses for many years. The greenhouse heating hose currently on the market meets the requirements. Yet, after asking around to growers, it turned out that there was definitely room for a second supplier for this type of hose.

With this in mind, they started working with partners. However, a greenhouse heating hose does have its own specific requirements. Bas Willemse: "You can't take any chances with the development of this type of hose. Thorough product development, laboratory research and testing are therefore a must, and demand a long preparation period."

Market launch In September last year, the time had come and the market was actively approached. The response has been very positive, according to Bas. "The quality of the hose was immediately recognized. Since the introduction of the GHH, many kilometers of hose have already been installed in greenhouses. Where previously one supplier determined the price, we now offer the Greenhouse Hose at competitive prices without making concessions on quality."

Sales are through greenhouse builders, installation companies and wholesalers. The hose has WUR approval and has been specially developed for supplying hot water to greenhouse horticulture. The hose can withstand high temperatures (100°C) without releasing harmful substances. Bas lists some more advantages: "Supple, kink-resistant design, ozone, wear and aging resistant and reinforced with synthetic inserts."

The KAS numbers are marked on the hose per diameter:

16,0mm = 2021-08 19.4mm = 2020-10 25.4mm = 2020-17 32.0mm = 2020-18
