The new 460E-II articulated dump truck (ADT) by John Deere is designed to give clients ultimate productivity and has been reimagined with a wider dump body, electrical and hydraulic system, as well as new modes to help get the job done.
John Deere says that this beast is built for the long haul. “Clients can expect a vehicle that has been designed for durability, reliability, comfort, safety, maximum performance and improved consumption.”

A vital feature of the new machine is the redesigned dump body, which is wider and has a lowered and levelled rail height to improve material retention allowing it to be easily lowered. The 460E-II also features an angled top that helps reduce material spillage while you’re cruising.
The updated model includes a brand new operator station and features that promote increased productivity and all-round comfort. The quiet, pressurised Deere-designed cab also features a new, easy to read monitor and rear-end camera display.
Clients can take full advantage of three modes with fuel saving in mind. Normal mode is for everyday operation and reduces up to 7% of fuel when compared to older models. While Eco mode, conserves fuel by managing engine power delivery and optimising transmission response and improving fuel consumption up to 12% if conditions are favourable. Traction mode provides maximum tractive effort in soft and slippery ground conditions.
The latest John Deere 460E-II ADT axles are designed for heavy duty and long life. They are lubricated, filtered, and cooled to extend their service life while the spring applied hydraulic released park brake is also reliable for users.
The new 460E-II features several safety features that helps keep operators out of harms way. This includes, remote park-brake release, rollover protection, ground-level services and auto horn.
With rollover protection, operators can set limits for the rear-chassis level when unloading. If the limit is exceeded the dump body will not raise, and an alert message will appear on the monitor.
The hose and wire routing on the ADT has been simplified to reduce rubbing and improve reliability. While the factory installed auto lube further boosts uptime and reliability. The redesigned electrical and hydraulic systems also maximise machine uptime with ten percent reduction of electric and hydraulic routing, further reducing leak points and improving reliability.
