Reading, PA – Quadrant EPP has expanded its industry-leading product line to include a range of Nylatron® 4.6 bar and sheet sizes.This high temperature grade of nylon is based on Stanyl® 4.6 raw material produced by DSM Engineering Plastics in the Netherlands.
First introduced in Europe, Nyaltron 4.6 is designed to give OEM design engineers a previously unavailable nylon (PA) option.The heat deflection temperature (ASTM D648) of Nylatron 4.6 exceeds 300°F (150°C), exceeding most PA, POM and PET based materials.Nylatron 4.6 retains its strength and stiffness at high temperatures, but still provides the toughness and durability that make nylon a reasonable design choice.
Nylatron 4.6 has been used in wear parts in industrial process machinery and valve parts in chemical processing applications.It maintains physical properties at high temperatures making it ideal for small series, machined automotive and transportation parts that require 300°F (150°C) capability under the hood.
Quadrant produces bars up to 60mm (2.36″) in diameter and 3m in length and plates up to 50mm (1.97″) thick, 1m (39.37″) and 3m (118.11″) in length.Nylatron 4.6 is reddish brown.
