Limerick-based Keltec Engineering is set to showcase its new range of slurry tankers at the event next week. The move into slurry equipment is not entirely new for the company, with the firm having developed a range of dribble bars and trailing shoes for another Irish manufacturer 15 years ago.

Initially, Keltec will be building a batch of popular sized units such as 2,600gal tankers, with plans to extend this to a full line offering including tandem axle machines in the near future.

Keltec will also be displaying a range of its other products, such as the bale slice, soft hands, shear grabs, bag fill bucket, post drivers and tree shears.

The range of tankers will be offered with the choice of in-house designed dribble bars and trailing shoes.

The unit confirmed for the event is a 2,600gal galvanised tanker with an eight-inch auto fill lazy arm and a 10.7m trailing shoe.

The firm will also display its new steerable front mower to the public for the first time. The firm first entered the mower market in 2014 with a three-point linkage mounted version. The newly introduced front mower can be steered from the cab through a hydraulic ram, which is operated from a double acting spool valve.

As mower operators will appreciate, the concept of steering the mower from the cab is an attempt to avoid leaving any uncut strips of grass behind, most notably when turning or running alongside bends. Keltec believes this is the first time such a feature has been available on a standard mower rather than as a third-party conversion. A rear-mounted mower will also feature on the stand.

The firm will also be showcasing its bale chasers. Building units for the past 30 years, today Keltec offer three sizes (eight, 10 and 12-pack options).

As standard, Keltec offers its patented bale load assist rollers, which enables bales to be loaded more easily. While in transport, its auto-smart locking system for the bale cages mean it’s protected against hose failure, driver error or tractor malfunction. The bale cages are manufactured using 80mm diameter Strenox steel with a 6mm wall, while the pipe work on the side cage is built with 5mm pipe.

Building units for the past 30 years, today Keltec offer three sizes (eight, 10 and 12-pack options).

The 10-pack comes as standard on a tandem axle with a high-speed double-axle bogey system. The unit is shod as standard on 550-45 R22.5 tyres, but options up to 710mm tyres can be ordered. The unit uses a load-sensing brake system, meaning that it’s less severe on the tyres when the machine is empty.

Keltec will also be displaying a range of its other products such as the bale slice, soft hands, shear grabs, bag fill bucket, post drivers and tree shears.
