A VAN fire in Evesham is being treated as suspicious after fire crews attend the scene yesterday evening.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service received six phone calls after a fire on Haselor Lane, in Evesham, yesterday evening.

A crew from Pershore was sent to the scene where they informed the police due to the suspicious nature of the fire. 

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We received the call at 10.13pm and sent a crew out to attend the scene.

" We arrived 15 minutes later where we discovered a diesel van that was well-alight.

"The fire was extinguished using a hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus.

"We informed the police afterwards due to the suspicious nature of the fire."

We have contacted West Mercia Police for more.
