TOWN OF RICHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — The Wood County Sheriff’s Office has released more information on Monday’s shooting in the Town of Richfield.
Officers have identified the suspect as 29-year-old Jason Schultz, saying he and the victim were arguing over details regarding the hose for an air compressor just before the shooting.
Schultz has been taken into custody for charges of first-degree reckless injury and a felony count of bail jumping. The victim, a 33-year-old Marshfield man, remains hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the pelvic area, no update on his condition has been given.
Officers add that the public was never in danger, though the investigation did close down a portion of Half-Mile Drive during the investigation as a precaution.
