While several agribusiness shows successfully pivoted to a virtual format last year, some events were not as fortunate. It would have been incredibly difficult for large-scale, in-person events to recreate the same compelling experience for attendees in such a short turnaround. One such show was the National Farm Machinery Show (NFMS), which was forced to postpone the 2021 event — including its world-famous Championship Tractor Pull — due to the pandemic.

Apache Sprayers by Equipment Technologies featured its new self-propelled sprayers at the 2022 National Farm Machinery Show (NFMS), including this HS1100 model. The sprayer is equipped with a 60″-70″ crop clearance that adjusts hydraulically on the go.

The new Beluga HoseDrop from Greenleaf Technologies is a flexible drop hose for undercover spraying inside the crop canopy. Beluga reduces drift, prevents application in the flowering zone, and offers tool-free nozzle change. The modular system allows spraying at several heights. Learn more about the technology from a corn study done by Jason Deveau of Sprayers101 in Canada.

One of the most popular exhibits at NFMS every year is the Case IH booth. Attendees learned about the company's latest technology and new products, including the Patriot 50 series sprayers.  With an exceptional operator environment, complete vehicle control, enhanced connectivity solutions, and integrated spray technology, the Patriot 50 series sprayer is designed to help operators work more productively and achieve high-efficiency spraying. Three new models — the Patriot 3250, 4350, and 4450 — are available to order for fall 2022.

Back in 2019, CropLife IRON visited Doyle Equipment Manufacturing's new 208,000-square-foot facility in Palmyra, MO, to get an inside look at its equipment production. And at the 2022 NFMS, attendees got a first-hand view of some of the company's products, including this conveying, tending, and spreading equipment.

Agri-Cover makes a complete line of roll tarp systems, including SRT-2, EZ-LOC, and ROLTEC Electric Conversion (pictured). The convenient on/off control keeps the driver out of the dust, rain, and harm’s way. Stay protected, clean and on schedule with a wide variety of electric conversions.

AGCO and AgRevolution showcased a number of new solutions from Fendt, Massey Ferguson, and Hesston at the 2022 NFMS. One of the highlights was the CropLife IRON 2021 Product of the Year, the Fendt Rogator 900 Series Applicator, which was elevated to showcase its high-clearance position for attendees.

The Mako 445, 445NT, and 455 (pictured) sprayers are some of the latest members of the GVM equipment family. The small, compact self-propelled sprayer makes the Mako an ideal machine to get into fields early, when grounds are still wet. These nimble units feature a 425-gallon polyethylene product tank, multiple boom options, 36 or 46 inches of crop clearance, and a tight turning radius.

The Hays 24-Ton Tender is manufactured in Camilla, GA, and is designed around specific customer needs. Both the 24-ton two- and three-compartment tenders feature the well-known “Hays Standards,” including greater hopper slope and lower trailer weight.

After the 2021 NFMS was postponed, event organizers, exhibitors, and attendees were excited to be back in person in Louisville for the 56th year of the largest indoor farm show in America.

Perhaps the biggest draw at the NFMS each year is the John Deere exhibit. At the 2022 show, attendees learned from experts about a variety of products, technology, and solutions introduced by the company, including tractors, balers, utility vehicles, planters, and more.

Innovation was on full display at the KSi booth, where attendees learned first hand about the company's technology. Products showcased included conveyors, seed treatment systems, and software.

Based in Hector, MN, Loftness features a diverse product line, including vegetation management equipment, crop shredders, grain bagging equipment, and fertilizer and lime spreaders. Loftness spreaders (pictured is the F1210) boast high durability, excellent spread pattern, and variable rate capabilities to meet the growing demand for precision application equipment.

Meridian Seed Express Bulk Seed Tenders are manufactured to accommodate multiple objectives, helping operators take the work out of loading seed into their planters or drills, decreasing downtime in the field, while keeping tractors and planters moving. The company has optimized its tenders for various seed products and recommend the unit with the options and accessories that best suit your farming operation. The 240 Series Seed Express Bulk Seed Tender was on display at the 2022 NFMS.

The NL600 from New Leader is a multi-purpose, multi-season spreader that has the ability to spread a variety of materials at higher rates and faster speeds, maximizing time in the field and the equipment investment. Equipped with the G4 spinner technology, the NL600 offers a reliable, consistent spread pattern. The VRT allows operators to apply at different rates at each location across the field for the highest level of precision.

Outback Guidance showcased one of its newest precision ag solutions at the 2022 NFMS: MaveriX terminals. These units feature 7- and 10-inch high-definition touch screens with pinch-to-zoom capability and a new user interface for intuitive handling and customer experience. MaveriX terminals are easily connected with built-in WiFi to support for over-the-air SW updates and RTK NTRIP corrections without the need for additional hardware.

NFMS attendees from both large and small operations learned about the benefits of the Mixmate automated chemical mixing system from Praxidyn's Doug and Kathy Applegate. Mixmate is designed for a portable spray tender trailer or as a stationary chemical mixing system. The Mixmate chemical inductor measures by weight and the Mixmate Flow uses an accurate flowmeter for measuring bulk products. The system simplifies the mixing process or completely automates chemical mixing with the bonus of automated records.

Quality. That was perhaps the word used most by attendees, show organizers, and exhibitors to describe the innovation and technology on display at the Kentucky Exposition Center. Quality permeated 27 acres of indoor exhibit space with the latest cutting edge products, equipment, and services.

Show organizers kicked off the 2022 National Farm Machinery Show with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony on February 16.

Salford Group featured a few pieces of equipment at the 2022 NFMS, including the latest model in its HALO tillage line, the HALO VRT, as well as the BBI MagnaSpread Plus spreader (pictured). The spreader is capable of accurately maximizing application width for both fertilizer and lime. The MagnaSpread Plus is capable of spreading dry fertilizer up to 120 feet and lime up to 60 feet.

Trimble showcased its newly launched Virtual Farm at the 2022 NFMS. In this new online tool, users walk through a digital farm and identify common challenges they encounter on a day-to-day basis. From there, farmers are directed to Trimble’s easy-to-use, connected solutions for each challenge and connected with a Trimble Ag representative to identify the best precision ag solution for their farm.

Attendees visiting the Wilger booth at the 2022 NFMS learned about the company's extensive line of nozzles, spray tips, and parts, as well as its Visual Ball Flow Indicator (pictured), a dependable tool that allows you to identify leaks and plugs quickly, so you can immediately resolve them.

While the NFMS is mostly known for showcasing the latest in agricultural equipment, crop inputs are also on full display in Louisville. FMC, for instance, showcased its extensive product portfolio, including its recently introduced Xway brand Fungicides. Attendees learned that there are many benefits associated with a fungicide, outside of yield, that can have a clear-cut, positive ROI.

Yardsticks? Walking sticks? Call them what you will, but these sticks are a fixture at every NFMS. It's always a fun challenge to weave through the sea of attendees carrying goodies in their bags and buckets while you dodge the tapping yardsticks.

As irrigation technology continues to evolve, so too does grower adoption in the latest solutions available on the market. That innovation was on full display at the Zimmatic by Lindsay exhibit. Attendees learned how the Lindsay advantage offers complete solutions for efficient irrigation, which include advanced controls, custom corner water patterns, variable rate irrigation, and much more.

Without question the biggest draw at the NFMS was once again the Championship Tractor Pull at Freedom Hall, where thousands of fans filled Freedom Hall during the evenings. The high-octane intensity was highlighted by drivers competing in Pro Stocks, Super Stocks, Modified, and Alcohol Tractors, as well as two-wheel and four-wheel drive trucks.

The NFMS has long been considered the largest indoor farm show in America, with more than 800 exhibitors and about 27 acres of exhibit space inside the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. And after last year’s hiatus, exhibitors, dealers, attendees, and the NFMS staff were thrilled to be back in person for the 2022 edition of the show.

There was so much to see and do during the four-day event, that words alone don’t do it justice. That’s why the editors of CropLife IRON have presented some of the highlights from the 2022 NFMS — from A to Z — in the photo gallery above.
